Fundraising

  Goals of the Fundraising Program

The goal of the Fundraising Program is to enable HRI to achieve its mission and serve its clients by providing sustainable financial resources for the agency.

Fundraising Policies and Training

Volunteers working on fundraising projects report to the Director of Marketing and Revenue Development.

HRI conducts its fund-raising activities in accordance with the Code of Ethical Principles and Standards of Professional Practice established by the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Creative Writing (F1-B)

When writing a biographical story about an HRI client for publication, the volunteer must receive approval of the final draft from the Director of Marketing and Revenue Development to ensure confidentiality measures have been satisfied.

Volunteers in this position need excellent written communication skills.  Proper grammar, compelling storytelling, and the ability to reach out to the audience will help the volunteer be successful at communicating HRI's mission.  Due diligence should be employed to ensure that information presented is factual and verifiable.

Please be aware that works written for HRI may be sent on for publication or utilized for other purposes.  We care about and respect intellectual efforts and applicable copyright laws.

Group Fundraising Project (F1-C)

If your group would like to create a fundraising project to benefit HRI, please speak with a representative to obtain proper authorization so that HRI's name and brand are not misused.  An authorized representative of your group should meet with the Director of Marketing and Revenue Development to discuss the plan and sign the agreement.  It is up to the group to assess risks and create a safe and fun event.

Special Events (F1-F)

Volunteers helping with special events may wish to utilize the HRI conference room for steering committee meetings.  Please contact HRI to reserve the room.  The steering committee should keep HRI up to date on the development of the plan, the estimated cost, and any issues that come up.
