CODE OF ETHICS: HRI is committed to being responsible, transparent, and accountable for all our actions. HRI is committed to avoiding conflicts of interest. All staff, board members and volunteers of HRI act with honesty, integrity, and openness in all their dealings as representatives of the organization. HRI has a clearly stated mission and purpose, approved by the board of directors, in pursuit of the public good. HRI has an active governing body that is responsible for setting the mission and strategic direction of the organization and oversight of the finances, operations, and policies of the organization. HRI manages its funds responsibly and prudently. HRI provides comprehensive and timely information to the public, the media, and all stakeholders and is responsive in a timely manner to reasonable requests for information. All information about HRI fully and honestly reflects the policies and practices of the organization. All financial, organizational, and program reports are complete and accurate in all material respects. HRI regularly reviews program effectiveness and has mechanisms to incorporate lessons learned into future programs. HRI promotes inclusiveness in its staff, board, volunteers, and clients in order to enrich its programmatic effectiveness and has adopted a policy on non-discrimination. HRI conducts its fundraising activities in accordance with the Code of Ethical Principles and Standards of Professional Practice established by the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
