RYHO! Storytellers

Human Rights Initiative (HRI), will host their second annual Rock Your HeArt Out! Art Auction & Concert in November 2017. 6-10 artists will have the opportunity to tell the story of abuse, immigration, and the journey to freedom through their art. Each selected artist (2017 RYHO Storyteller) will partner with an HRI client -through sculptures, paintings, and photography -to create a narrative that documents the client’s path to safety, liberty, and opportunity. Each piece will be installed at Life in Deep Ellum for the Rock Your HeArt Out Art Auction & Concert, giving event attendees and online followers the opportunity to bid in the art auction. All money raised will directly benefit immigrants and asylum seekers who have been tortured and abused. Last year the Rock Your HeArt Out Concert & art Auction raised over $100,000. Many of the featured local Dallas artists’ storytelling landed national attention.
