Katharine Brunson
Legal Assistant and Case Management Coordinator kbrunson@hrionline.org vCard Katharine first came to HRI as an intern and, ultimately, as a staff member. She graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2008 with a B.A. in psychology and minors in human rights, political science, and African studies. In fact, she is the first graduate of the human rights education program and also recipient of SMU's 2008 William K. McElvaney Award in Social Justice. Katharine's travels have taken her across the world - to six continents - and have provided her with a compassionate perspective and cultural awareness. Katharine serves HRI as the case management coordinator and as a legal assistant supporting the Asylum Program and the Women and Children's Program. In May 2009, Katharine became an accredited representative for the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).
